Heels tapping on the parquet, guides recounting both what happened and what didn't, the distinct smell of the exhibits - all of this reminiscent of a school field trip where you only wanted to sleep or get back home quickly. Unfortunately, there's nothing to be done in such cases - the museological matter does not envisage the introduction of any innovations, especially if it exists by virtue of the state.

The National Museum in Vilnius holds exhibits necessary for understanding the history of Lithuania in the context of millennia, moreover, it hosts very interesting exhibitions of global scale.

The Vilnius museum is genuinely concerned that the tour might turn out to be boring and uninteresting, and so, the national exhibits are "diluted" with bits of Ancient Egyptian mummies and Scythian ornaments - in short, one can learn much more than just the history of Lithuania.

W tym miejscu mieściły się koszary. W latach 60 XX wieku urządzono tu muzeum etnograficzne, którego zbiory pokazują dzieje państwa litewskiego od późnego neolitu, aż do roku 1940. Z dziedzińca tego muzeum można wjechać kolejką na Górę Giedymina.
