About

King Mindaugas Bridge connects the Old Town and the Žirmūnai district, making it one of the 34 city bridges across the Vilnia River.

Construction of the bridge began in 2002 and lasted a whole year, after which a ceremonial opening was held, timed to coincide with the 750th anniversary of King Mindaugas's coronation. The Art Nouveau style was chosen for the design - iron arched structures devoid of decorative elements.

Tourists often use this bridge to conveniently move to the historical center from the Žirmūnai district, where renting accommodation is cheaper.

If you're tired of all the standard tourist activities, don't miss the chance to walk across this bridge to areas away from the city center and the hustle and bustle - it will definitely bring a sense of peace and ease to your soul.
