About

Archives, basements, and chambers linked to the political repressions of the 20th century often become museum exhibits to narrate the history of human cruelty and tyranny.

To the northwest of Vilnius city center lies the Museum of Genocide Victims - the former KGB building. Just one look at the exhibits is enough to send shivers down your spine and make you not want to believe that these items were used for interrogations and executions of prisoners.

Many visit the memorial museum to pay tribute to the victims of unjust and merciless persecutions; others do it to become better acquainted with the facts of world history; for some, this place is an unusual attraction with eerie rarities and an oppressive atmosphere. The building has complex systems of corridors and rooms, so the service of a tour guide or audio guide would not be superfluous.

The story of how both the KGB and the Gestapo controlled this city is frightening. There was enough information in English to describe the history. This museum would be improved by a guided tour similar to the KGB museum in Prague.

Très intéressant et bien documenté, mais aeration insuffisante. En outre manque d'interaction, juste des pavés de texte. L'accueil est très peu souriant, devrait être amélioré, la personne ne nous a pas proposé l'audio guide qu'on a découvert trop tard.
