About

Anyone who has studied history in school might recall the eras ruled by various princes, viceroys, kings, and so on - all differing in the wealth of the territories they controlled, their relationships with other states, and other aspects. But there always came a time when a "knight in shining armor" would appear, leading the city to a better life - for which many subsequent generations are invariably grateful.

The Gediminas Monument is a bronze statue located on the Cathedral Square: here, one can see the depiction of the city's founder and his faithful warhorse, made one and a half times larger than the originals. In any case, even if you are not a great connoisseur of history - visiting this place would be pleasant at least for the sake of learning the main location for the beginning of local festivities and the organization of craft fairs: all of them gather at the monument to their generous urban planner.
