About

Vilnius' monuments astonish with their rich diversity - artists and sculptors annually adorn the city streets with monuments, paying tribute to the talented and brilliant figures.

Thus, at the intersection of Pilies and Latako streets, in the courtyard of one of the local churches, a unique monument to Alexander Pushkin and his no less famous great-grandfather - Ibrahim Petrovich Gannibal was installed. The sculpture features two hands with profiles and an Orthodox cross in the middle. The two-meter monument weighs about two tons and is made of such noble materials as marble, bronze, and brass.

The monument to Pushkin and his great-grandfather reminds local residents and tourists how much these outstanding personalities have done for the development of the Russian language, science, and construction.
