About

If you walk long enough along the ancient Lithuanian street of Bokšto, marveling at the architecture of the buildings, the quality of service in the restaurants, the abundance of hotels, and other aspects of joyful tourist leisure - you might find yourself near a special structure, built here back in the year 1640.

The Bokšto Artillery Bastion is a part of the city wall of the old fortress, which has survived two wars and served roles from a defensive outpost (the structure includes embrasures) to an ammunition warehouse. The history of this building is indeed multifaceted, but now, and as the Lithuanians hope, for all time, inside the bastion, there is a peaceful museum exhibition, open for tourists to freely visit.

Therefore, rest assured - your walking tour will be richly rewarded.
