About

The Ziemelblazma Culture House is located in the north of Riga, and it will take a tourist at least half an hour of driving to get there. Such sacrifices are not in vain-the culture house is a significant monument of Latvian architecture under the protection and guardianship of the state.

Interestingly, the Ziemelblazma Culture House, or more precisely the land under its construction, was a generous gift from the industrialist and well-known patron Dombrovskis to the temperance society. Historians have difficulty explaining the reason for such a gift, leaving us to construct improbable theories, many of which are still popular among the people. The building has suffered a significant fire and is therefore currently undergoing restoration-its former interior appearance and facade are being restored.

Šajā vietā pirmā sabiedriskā ēka tika uzcelta 1904.gadā,1906.gadā to nodedzināja Krievijas Impērijas soda ekspedīcija. Pašreizējā ēka celta 1913.gadā. Viens no finansētājiem bija rūpnieks Ar.Dombrovskis. Tā bija pirmā dzelzbetona ēka Rīgā,jo A..Dombrovskis bija nolēmis neļaut to vēlreiz nodedzināt. 2013.gadā ēku rekonstruēja. Tagad tajā darbojas vairāki kori, orķestris, folkloras kopa, mākslas studijas un atrodas bibliotēka.

Skaisti iekopta vide dažāda veida pasākumiem gan pašā kultūras pilī, gan tās apkārtnes dārzā un skatu tornī.
