Základy tu byly už před rokem 1587, V roce 1623 přestavba paláce do dnešních podob s uzavřeným nádvořím. Byla tu v 18 století vojenská zbrojnice. Od roku 1921 budovu vlastní Sokol. Vevnitř tělocvična, bazén a některé prostory pronajímá. Nachází se tu i několik soch. Tramvajová zastávka Helichova.
