About

Today, the Church of St. Nicholas in Prague is a place where an annual procession takes place during the Easter and Christmas celebrations. Its construction spanned just over half a century, from 1704 to 1756, and consists of the cathedral itself, as well as two bell towers, each 79 meters tall.

Inside, the Church of St. Nicholas is adorned with massive frescoes. The most outstanding among them is the "Apotheosis of Saint Nicholas", with the engraving measuring 1,500 square meters.

It is closely followed by the fresco in the dome - "Apotheosis of the Holy Trinity", created in 1751. Underneath the dome, there are sculptures of four church fathers, crafted in 1769 by the architect Platzer. He also placed a statue of Saint Nicholas on the main altar.

Exquisitely complementing the richly decorated interior of the church are stained glass windows and an antique organ, which was once touched by the genius of the great Mozart.
