About

The idea of building a tower on Petřín Hill, which resembles the famous Eiffel Tower in its structure, was conceived by the Club of Czech Tourists. The project was executed by engineers J. Souček and F. Prášil. The construction was completed in 1891, and the structure weighs 170 tons.

Despite the tower being only 60 meters tall, its location on a hill makes it the highest point in Prague. An additional broadcasting tower, which adds another 20 meters, complements the Petřín Tower.

Visiting the tower is a must for the magnificent panoramic views it offers of the architectural marvels of the ancient Czech capital, visible from its summit. There are 299 steps leading up to it, but those who prefer not to climb can take the elevator.

Je hebt een magnifiek uitzicht over Praag! Echt wel een aanrader om te doen. Enige nadeel is dat het met de trap helemaal tot boven is...
