About
In the Castle District of Prague lies the impressive Národní Galerie Praha SchwarzenberskÝ Palác. A masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, the striking sgraffito design on its façade is only a hint of the treasures waiting inside. Having a storied history under the ownership of the Schwarzenberg family for several centuries, this art museum features notable works from masters like Durer, Cranach, Rembrandt, and Bronzinos, to name a few.
The polished blend of history and modernity makes it a delightful spot for both art and architecture enthusiasts. Featuring a variety of exhibitions that marry the grandeur of old masters with modern architectural solutions, the space allows visitors to engage deeply with its contents. Though well-frequented, the gallery offers a calm atmosphere, enhanced by its thoughtful renovation, making it an ideal excursion suitable for children too. An accessible gem that promises a rich cultural experience in Prague.

I saw the collection more than 20 years ago. It seems to me that then it was a single whole, and now it is divided into two groups of "old masters". That is, you need to buy tickets to two museums, one of which does not have an elevator. The number of visitors was comparable to the number of workers. The elderly caretakers are very sociable and try to attract the attention of visitors to the painting.
