About

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral was inaugurated in August 1861, coinciding with the establishment of the Russian embassy in Paris. The construction's organizers intended for the church to serve as a unifying element, tying together representatives of both nations living on the same territory. The history of the cathedral is quite interesting and captivating. Depending on the global political situation, it has come under various authorities. Today, the church stands as a spiritual center for Russians not only in Paris but across all of Western Europe.
