About

The Ethnography Museum, named after the ethnographer Severin Uzdely, is located in the former Kazimir Town Hall. The museum was assigned this location after the end of World War II. Its relatively young age has not affected its significance and tourist visitation. As of today, the museum collection includes over 8,000 exhibits, and the library holds almost 30,000 volumes deemed valuable by historians. The core of the collection consists of Polish items, with about 25% of the objects brought from other locations. Additionally, the museum houses especially valuable manuscripts, photographs, and postcards from past centuries, as well as fragments of iconostases and even a collection from Tibet dating back to the early 18th century.

Warto zwiedzić to miejsce.

Nazwa budynku nawiązuje do legendy o Esterce, żydowskiej oblubienicy króla Kazimierza Wielkiego. Wcześniej, w latach 50. i 60., działał tu bar kawowy "Esterka".
