About

Postal Square is one of the oldest squares in Kyiv. According to historical data, trading settlements were already present on this site in the 4th century AD. The square was originally named Rozhdestvenskaya. However, in the middle of the 19th century, it was renamed. Its appearance also changed slightly later. Thus, in the mid-70s of the 20th century, the square underwent significant changes, becoming much more spacious and shifting northward. The architectural ensemble of the buildings also changed. The current name of the square comes from a large postal station that was located here, the main building of which still adorns Kyiv today.
