About

One of the main attractions of Karlovy Vary is the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, which was built solely with funds donated by Russian nobles, initiated by Princess Elena Pavlovna. It's a true masterpiece of Russian architecture, akin to the churches of Yaroslavl and Moscow from the 17th century! One of the distinctive features of the church is the covered galleries that lead to the bell towers, and a porch with an entry hall. Also noteworthy is the bright interior complemented by beautiful stained-glass windows featuring the likenesses of the patron apostles. Once inside, pay attention to the oak iconostasis and the crystal chandelier (central lustre), which is designed for 132 candles!
