Girona

It's convenient to admire the charming Girona while strolling along the city's medieval wall. The route is about 3 km long, and there are several access points to the wall for tourists. Panoramic views can be enjoyed from the platforms of the fortress towers Gironella and Sant Domènec, near the Santa Llúcia monastery.

The heart of the city is the Cathedral, which was built and rebuilt over 800 years. The central part of the church (nave) is the second widest in the world. Admire the stained glass windows and sculptures, visit the courtyard with its beautiful columns, and explore the museum exhibits.

Around the Cathedral, there are many interesting buildings, museums, shops, and restaurants. The most popular attractions include the Roman statue La Lleona, the complex of the Arab Baths, Basílica de Sant Feliu, and Monestir de Sant Pere de Galligants. The steps, arches, and facades of the Old Town often appear in historical series. Around the City Museum of History begins the labyrinth of medieval streets of the Jewish quarter El Call.

Magnificent photos of colorful houses against the backdrop of the Onyar River are captured on numerous bridges. The most famous pedestrian bridge is an iron one, designed by Eiffel. On the opposite bank, shopping streets with 19th-century mansions begin. Take a break before shopping at one of the restaurants in Plaça de la Independència.
