La chiesa presenta elementi romanici, barocchi e neoclassici, in quanto fu costruita tra il IX e il X secolo. Ad esempio, ad essere romanico è il campanile; barocco è la volta e neoclassico è la facciata. La pianta dell'edificio è a tre navate, anche se tutti gli ambienti interni sono ben in comunicazione tra loro. Ad attirare lo sguardo sono il soffitto dorate e le numerose decorazioni.

La basilica di Santa Maria delle Vigne è una delle più antiche Chiese cattoliche di Genova. È un edificio religioso situato in Piazza delle Vigne, nel quartiere della Maddalena. Questa basilica è un gioiello inaspettato poiché sebbene non sia molto pubblicizzata, è veramente molto bella. Mentre passeggiavamo per i carruggi genovesi ci siamo imbattuti in questa Chiesa dall’aspetto esteriore abbastanza anonimo. Non molto convinti abbiamo deciso di visitarne l’interno dove siamo stati completamente folgorati dallo stile barocco, ricco di pregiati affreschi. Entrando si viene immediatamente rapiti da un tripudio di colori, rimanendo esterrefatti dalla maestosità della basilica e dalla cura dei dettagli. Consiglio di prendersi del tempo e soffermarsi per almeno 10/15 minuti per ammirarla al meglio poiché è un vero gioiello.

Bazylika Santa Maria delle Vigne znajduje się przy Piazza delle Vigne. "Vigne" znaczy "winnice". Nazwa placu wzięła się stąd, że w X-XI wieku, właśnie tutaj znajdowały się winnice, które zniknęły wraz z urbanizacją obszaru. Bazylika jest jednym z najstarszych i najważniejszych kościołów genueńskich. Jego fasadę zbudowano w 1842 roku na poprzednim budynku z 1640 roku. Wnętrza są bardzo dekoracyjne i reprezentują XVII-wieczny genueński barok, chociaż bazylika miała strukturę romańską, a w rzeczywistości została założona w 981 roku. Warto tu zajrzeć, bo wnętrza są naprawdę piękne.
