Museum Quarter in Vienna
About
The MuseumsQuartier is an interesting place where one can fully experience Austrian culture. It hosts several popular Viennese museums, cultural and art institutions, and the Kunsthalle. The MuseumsQuartier is the venue for a large portion of various entertainment events, including literary festivals and concerts. It's hard to imagine that the building was originally intended for the imperial stables of Charles VI, which were demolished after World War I. In the 1920s, the first exhibitions were opened on their site. Somewhat later, it was decided to rebuild the building, transforming it into the Eastern Pavilion. Talks about creating the MuseumsQuartier began in the 1980s. The project was realized in 2001 after considering numerous ideas and proposals.
