The old Jewish cemetery, which now serves as one of the interesting attractions of the Czech Republic, was the burial place for Jews of various classes and statuses from 1439 to 1787. Here lie the souls of ordinary weavers, barbers, and shopkeepers, as well as figures whose names are now known to many Jews.

For instance, one of the most legendary figures is Judah Loew - a rabbi, scholar, and Kabbalist, who according to legend, created a stone monster known as the Golem.

In total, there are about 12,000 graves on the small cemetery grounds. And these are only those that have managed to be preserved to this day.

Upon arriving here, it is recommended to first visit the ceremonial hall located at the entrance to the cemetery, built in 1906, where drawings by children once imprisoned in the "Terezin" concentration camp are now displayed.
