Il Rudolfinum è una sala concerti situata sulla riva destra del Danubio, nella Città Vecchia di Praga (raggiungibile coi tram 17 e 18). L'edificio storico fu costruito dal 1876 al 1884 in stile neorinascimentale secondo i progetti degli architetti Josef Zitek e Josef Schulz. L'edificio fu inaugurato nel 1885 e deve il suo nome a Rodolfo d'Asburgo (1858-1889), principe ereditario d'Austria-Ungheria. Rappresenta la Casa della Musica di Praga, nonchè la sede della Filarmonica della capitale ceca, ma ospita anche una galleria d’arte contemporanea, tra l'altro gratuita. Al suo interno si trova anche la famosa e piuttosto decorata Sala Dvořák, coi soffitti straordinariamente alti che conferiscono alla sala un'acustica eccezionale; ha un magnifico lampadario al centro e il palco è dominato da un enorme organo. Il giardino posto di fronte al magnifico palazzo è un altro bel polmone verde che affaccia direttamente sulla Moldava. Merita sicuramente una visita. Ricordate: l'ingresso alla Galerie Rudolfinum si trova sulla facciata laterale dell'edificio, sul lato del sopracitato fiume.

Really beautiful gallery inside with a cafe and nice restrooms. Just saw the free exhibit for Radical Tenderness by a Colombian artist Ivan Argote and his films were rich and refreshing

Die Austellungsräume im Rudolfinum an sich sind schon sehenswert. Die aktuelle Austellung" Radical Tenderness" von Ivan Argote war nicht ganz mein Ding, aber toll, das es diesen Ort gibt. Dazu wird nur ein freiwilliger Eintrittsbeitrag erwartet, grundsätzlich ist der Eintritt frei. Sehr angenehm im sonst teuren Prag.
