A cultic building constructed in the 16th century by one of the wealthiest Jews in Prague, Mordechai Maisel. Initially, it was a private family synagogue. A century later, a terrible fire almost completely destroyed the building, and nearly all of the cult objects donated personally by the founder were lost. However, the name Maisel Synagogue has been preserved to this day. Originally constructed in the Renaissance style, it was rebuilt after the fire in the Baroque tradition. The synagogue's floor area was halved after the reconstruction.

The last reconstruction of the Maisel Synagogue was carried out in the 19th century in the then-popular Neo-Gothic style. The reconstruction affected both the external appearance and the interior of the synagogue.

During the Nazi occupation of Czechia, this cultic building was turned into a warehouse. The occupiers wanted to create an anti-Jewish museum, and for the time being, they stored all future exhibits in the Maisel Synagogue. However, they never managed to realize this idea. Today, the building houses the Jewish Museum.

Belle synagogue du quartier juif. Attention même avec le billet intégral qui coûte tout de même 600 couronnes des parties sont fermées donc inaccessibles… sur le parcours le cimetière et la synagogue espagnole sont de loin les plus intéressants.

Está dentro del complejo del barrio judío donde pagando 24 € puedes visitar seis sin ahogas y el cementerio, aunque a la hora de la verdad tres estaban cerradas, un poco caro. Respecto a esta sinagoga, la verdad es que es muy bonita y sencilla, hace las veces de museo sobre los judíos en la zona.
