As an academic and certified book obsessive, let me say this: the Municipal Library of Prague is absolutely stunning. The building is gorgeous, the atmosphere is peaceful, and it’s the kind of place that makes you want to live inside a bibliography. 5 out of 5 — no question. Now, about the famous Infinite BookTower — yes, it’s a fantastic piece of modern art. Clever, beautifully designed, and incredibly photogenic. Totally worth seeing at least once. BUT. Be warned: the queue for the BookTower is completely separate from accessing the library itself — and it is no joke. We queued for just over an hour at midday, and from what I could see, that wasn’t unusual. Not the library’s fault at all (they’ve got a treasure on their hands), but if you’re short on time or patience, don’t turn up at peak hours expecting a quick peek. If you want to see the tower without standing in a conga line of tourists, I’d recommend going right at opening or closer to the end of the day. That said, the library as a whole? Breathtaking. Peaceful, well-curated, architecturally impressive, and an absolute haven for readers. Five stars, no hesitation — just bring patience if you’re after that perfect BookTower selfie.
