No matter the various names this notable building located in the central part of the Czech capital has been called, the most popular name today remains "Dancing House". The idea for the construction belongs to Václav Havel, who later became the head of the Czech government. Architects from Canada and Croatia were involved in the project, deciding to construct the building in the style of deconstructivism. The project was characterized by its broken lines, which, according to the authors' vision, best reflected the idea of breaking away from totalitarianism. The building consists of two towers, symbolizing the male and female principles according to Chinese philosophy. The "female" tower has a curved shape, unlike the more restrained silhouette of the "male". Originally, the task was to make this building a temple of culture. Today, the vast spaces of the building are used for office premises, and there is a French restaurant on the roof. Despite the fact that the residents of Prague have vastly different opinions about the appropriateness of this building in the modern cityscape, the "Dancing House" impresses everyone who sees it!

Bezocht op 4 augustus 2025 Op de bovenste verdieping vind u een bar. Hier kunt u een drankje drinken. Er staan hier 10 kleine ronde rafeltjes waar u uw drankje kunt nuttigen. Het kan er druk zijn waardoor u even moet wachten op een plekje. U kunt vanuit de bar naar een uitzicbtplatform lopen op de 7e verdieping. Als u hier gebruik van wilt maken moet u als volwassene 150 Kč (6.20 euro) betalen. Kinderen tm 12 jaar zijn gratis. Vanaf dit platform (balkon) heeft u zicht over de rivier en een deel van Praag. Let op, de Karelsbrug is vanaf hier niet te zien. Uw bonnetje moet u goed bewaren bewaren. Tot de bar gaat sluiten kunt u op vertoon van het betaalbewijs het balkon blijven bezoeken.
