About

The Vienna Gate is located in the ancient historical district of the capital known as Buda. This monument of history and architecture from past centuries is surrounded by many of the city's landmarks, including the National Archives and the Law University.

The gate is divided into a central arched entrance and two identical "openings" on the sides, through which an endless stream of locals and tourists flow. The triumphal arch is made of gray limestone and has been reconstructed several times since its foundation. The gates serve as an unofficial symbol of Hungary's liberation from many years of Turkish dominion.

Bonito arco que da entrada al barrio del Castillo de Buda, donde se encuentra la iglesia de Matias, el bastión de los pescadores y el palacio real. Todo recomendable.
