About

The Millennium Monument of Hungary is located on the most famous square in Budapest - Heroes' Square. This stone symbol was erected to commemorate the arrival of the Magyars and the proclamation of national independence for the Hungarian people.

When discussing the Millennium Monument, the term "monument" refers to an entire architectural complex composed of various sculptures and monuments, among which a Corinthian column stands out prominently. It is topped with a five-meter statue of the Archangel Gabriel, who is credited with converting the Hungarians to Christianity. Flanking the column are sculptures of War and Peace, as well as effigies of kings, military leaders, and politicians.
