About

The statue of Anonymous is a composition of bronze and stone dedicated to the medieval monk who wrote the famous "Deeds of the Hungarians." On the stone "throne" sits a chronographer and chronicler with a pen and book, dressed in flowing robes, with the face of Anonymous concealed.

According to legend, the monk known for his work studied in Paris and always wore a dark cloak. This is where his unusual name "Anonymous" came from, although some historians still believe the monk was named Gallus.

The landmark is popular among tourists, who like to touch the tip of the pen and make a wish, which is sure to come true.
