About
Behind the mysterious name "wheel of time" lie the largest sandglass ever existed in the world. Its name was not given by chance - an unusual shape in the form of a disk with triangular compartments for the sand played a role.
The wheel of time is one of the most visited attractions in Budapest. The height of the clocks reaches 8 meters, and granite, shock-resistant glass, and stone were used for their construction. This unique monument is located near Heroes' Square since its foundation in 2004. The clocks never stop ticking, and every year on December 31st, they begin a new cycle of sand pouring.
