About

The Statue of Liberty is located on the renowned Gellert Hill on the banks of the Danube and depicts a woman holding a palm branch in her hands. The statue reaches a height of 14 meters, with the base of the monument rising another 26 meters.

The monument is visible from almost any point in Budapest, and at its base is a sculpture of a warrior, who is overcoming the hydra of fascism. This place is often visited by tourists and locals alike, who come to pay tribute to the fallen Soviet soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Hungary. In the first years after its construction, the statue was named the Monument of Liberation.

Great landmark from where you have good views overlooking mainly the Pest side of Budapest. Beautiful views of Elizabeth Bridge. You can also see the Parliament, Liberty Bridge and Buda Castle in the distance.

Nie było możliwości zwiedzania, gdyż cały obiekt był w remoncie. Nie było żadnej informacji na dole przed wejściem na szczyt że obiekt jest nieczynny
