Plaça de Catalunya can rightfully be called the most famous square in all of Barcelona. It is from here that La Rambla and Passeig de Gràcia, considered the showcase of modernist architecture, begin.

Despite the Catalonian square's impressive size, it is always bustling with tourists and locals. This is hardly surprising-three metro lines intersect nearby, tour buses make stops here, and the city's railway runs through the area. The square is adorned with miniature fountains and sculptures, which seem impossible to count.
