Arc de Triomphe in Barcelona
About
The Arc de Triomf is a true example of perfect forms and proportions, abundant with multiple symbols, as well as sculptures and decorative elements. The structure appeared in Barcelona at the beginning of the World's Fair, which took place back in 1988.
The arch is built from brick in the popular neo-Mudéjar style of that time. Special attention should be paid to the hand-carved friezes that encircle the famous landmark. The main gates also feature bas-reliefs symbolizing agriculture, commerce, art, and industry, and above them are the coats of arms of 49 Spanish provinces, with Barcelona's at the forefront.
