I felt like we were back in a Michelin starred restaurant in Provence eating here. I loved sitting at the counter and watching the sou chefs prepare and dress the dishes. It was the first time since then that we got to enjoy Monkfish. A rare find! And cooked beautifully with a light curry sauce. We did the 4 course option and were stuffed after, it was a lot of food but well priced! The strawberry gelato desert with geranium foam was a memorable and perfect ending to the rich meal. The staff was attentive. We will definitely go back as they change their menu daily. Truly an unexpected gem to find on a random corner of the mission.

I was somewhat disappointed by a recent visit here. The menu was pretty unimaginative. Each dish (minus dessert) was a protein, one vegetable, and some sort of sauce all over the top. The protein was all cooked well, but all the dishes blended together for me. I did pay extra for an octopus dish, which was more of the same. Again--tasted fine. Just not what I would expect from a place like this. I also thought the service was lacking. I waited a long time for service all throughout the night. I had the wine pairing, but a few times the wine was a bit late after the course arrived. For my optional octopus course, the service came by when I was about halfway done and asked if I wanted a pairing for this dish since it was an addition to the menu. I did not since I was almost done with it... Descriptions of the food and wine were extremely short and really didn't inspire me at all. It was fine. The food wasn't bad. But at this price point with so many other options, I would never recommend anyone to go here. Plenty of other great options. I went to Rich Table and State Bird during the same trip and had a much better experience!
