About

Right at the entrance to the Old City, in an area nicknamed Clausentor, hiding behind the green crowns of maple trees, stands St. Mark's Church. The temple is executed in the enduring Baroque style, and through the carved alcoves of the bell towers, the sonorous strikes of the copper giants resonating, heralding the beginning of the mass. Here sits the famous organ of Hans Moraher, surrounded by Byzantine icons, specially brought here at the request of the Austrian clergy. St. Mark's Church, like any other monument of architecture and culture, is included in the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage list.

The 400-year-old St. Mark's Church is located in Salzburg's old town near the Klausentor. The baroque building is now available to the Ukrainian-Greek-Catholic community.
