About

Only a noble girl who was willing to renounce meat and all other carnal desires, dedicating herself entirely to God, could join the nuns at Nonnberg Abbey. Today, the "procedure" has been simplified, although one should not expect to take free tours beyond its walls-the monastery is closed to visitors and only the Church of the Nativity warmly opens its doors to both pilgrims and tourists. The abbey is maintained in a Romanesque style, adorned with frescoes, Gothic figures, and numerous art works that have remained undamaged since the thirteenth century. Fans of vegetarian cuisine will find "consolation" and nourishment for their mortal bodies in the local restaurant, which excludes the addition of meat in all its dishes.

Easy to get to just requires some walking up hilly roads , authentic and dark inside pity you can't access more of it but very interesting and lots of photo opportunities outside

Fantasztikus hely, nem szabad kihagyni, ha békés helyre vágysz! A várba vezető lépcső vezet fel ide.
