About

The Medieval Museum is often referred to as the Cluny Museum since, during the Middle Ages, the building served as the Cluny Hotel. The history of the structure dates back to the 13th century. At that time, a monastery was built on the site of the Roman baths. A little later, two hundred years afterward, a mansion was added next to it. Following the French Revolution and the nationalization of the building, it was turned into a museum. The collection consists of a compilation of items and documents from the 13th century up to the end of the Middle Ages. It includes everyday objects, stained glass, tapestries, and art pieces.

Exceptionnel !

The loveliest little museum! The tapestries are so lovely and the medieval and Roman architecture of the building is wonderful.
