Granada

The enchanting beauty of the Alhambra is the first association with the untamed Granada. To fully appreciate the beauty of the Alhambra, it is advisable to plan your journey in advance: tourists are assigned specific times to visit the three Nasrid palaces. The Red Towers, Alcazaba, the Palace of Charles V, and the Generalife gardens are all worth visiting. To admire the Alhambra at sunrise or sunset, you can choose from one of the 40 viewpoints. The best viewpoints are considered to be the ones near the churches of San Nicolas and San Cristobal, next to the Sacromonte Abbey, and the Lola viewpoint on the San Miguel forest trail.

To appreciate the charm of the Old Town, it's convenient to descend the slope to Plaza Nueva, visit the 11th-century Arab baths Baño del Bañuelo, and explore ancient churches. The old Jewish quarter, Albaicín, is famous for its photogenic appeal. The white interior of the Granada Cathedral and the Royal Chapel with the tombs of the legendary Isabella and Ferdinand is truly impressive. Not far from the cathedral, you can see the building of the medieval Moorish university and the 14th-century inn, Corral del Carbón.

In Granada, it is worth attending a flamenco show and visiting the ultra-modern Science Park with interactive exhibits. In one of the Arab tea houses, teterias, be sure to try the aromatic tea and Moroccan pastries. And one more thing: on the ancient streets with views of the Alhambra, you’ll find the best tapas in Spain.
