About

Only the most "experienced" tourists, those who have visited every corner of Brussels and stumbled upon it quite by accident, know about the Halle Gate. In fact, the Halle Gate is the only surviving part of the second city wall, which today serves as a museum.

Inside the so-called "gates," there are never many visitors. There is a tall spiral staircase within the building, up which soldiers, guards, monks, and even kings once climbed. It leads to the very top, where there is an observation deck offering a breathtaking view of the surroundings. A branch of the Royal Museum of History and Art operates within the walls of the structure, featuring an exhibition that includes a multitude of ancient weapons.
