About

History, tales, legends, and truth in one place - Nikolaiviertel on the Spree river has been living peacefully for many years, attracting various people. Here, craftsmen toiled, pastors preached, doctors saw patients in the middle of the night. Time mercilessly marred the beauty of the architecture, but eventually, restoration transformed one of Berlin's largest streets beyond recognition. Facades reemerged, countless ornaments and metal cast decorations appeared anew. The Saint Nicholas Church is the heart of the quarter, its main focal point and pride. The centuries have been kind to the building, while a statue of George the Victorious rises above the mortal world, spearing the treacherous serpent. Epoch after epoch, something warm and so familiar gently sweeps over the cobbled paths, disappearing around the next turn.

Il quartiere è stato ricostruito quindi non aspettatevi i palazzi originali, tuttavia una passeggiata in questo che era la Berlino agli albori è interessante. Il quartiere è ben tenuto, tanti negozi e tanti locali tipici.
