About

The Hıdırlık Tower first appeared in the 2nd century AD and is now considered the most ancient attraction in all of Antalya. To this day, no one knows exactly why the tower was built - whether it was for defense, as a lighthouse, or a tomb.

Hıdırlık stands fourteen meters tall and looks like a huge stone cylinder set on a square base. According to some sources, in ancient times, the tower was topped with a pointed dome, which unfortunately has not survived. Today, the Turkish flag waves at the top of Hıdırlık, attracting the attention not only of visiting tourists but also of seagulls that circle around it in large numbers.
