About

Iskele Mosque in Antalya stands as a fascinating historical gem, reflecting the Seljuk architectural style with its unique hexagonal design. Perched on four sturdy stone pillars, this mosque offers a glimpse into the area's rich past, possibly rooted in its conversion from a Byzantine church. With a short minaret crowned by a conical roof, its silhouette is both striking and serene.

Inside, visitors can admire a simple yet evocative mihrab and a quaint wooden pulpit, while a well on the lower floor provides refreshing water-an unusual and charming feature. The mosque's restoration intertwined with the repair of castle walls, revealing layers of history at every turn.

Surrounding the mosque is a vibrant harbor area, teeming with bustling restaurants and charming stores, making it a perfect spot to explore both culture and cuisine. With entrance free to all and available throughout the day via a staircase on the north-east side, Iskele Mosque is a must-visit for those seeking to explore Antalya's architectural and cultural tapestry.
