The Church of Saint Nicholas is located right in the heart of the small town of Demre. The temple is considered one of the main attractions of the entire province, preserving traces of ancient Christianity within.
A bronze sculpture of Nicholas the Wonderworker, built despite its Turkish origins with donations from the residents of Moscow, guards the entrance to the sanctuary. The temple is a miniature, partially ruined complex with an entrance for tourists on the south side. Ancient mosaics are still preserved on the walls, ceiling, and floor, but some parts of it can only be seen from a very close distance - so much has it faded and lost its original appearance. The church functions as a museum, and once a year, on December 6th, crowds of pilgrims gather here to participate in the festive divine service.

Yapı olarak çok daha etkileyici yerler gördüm, ama buradaki atmosfer biraz farklı. Kesinlikle gitmenizi öneririm.
