About

Hadrian's Gate, like many other architectural monuments in Antalya, has managed to preserve its original "appearance" despite the whirlwind of years and the flurry of events. The attraction came into being thanks to the Roman Emperor Hadrian, who decided to visit the city in 130 AD.

The Hadrian's Arch is a peculiar boundary of time, dividing Antalya into two parts. The first part is bustling and constantly growing in size, as befits a modern metropolis, while the second part is quietly living out its days, delighting tourists with the magic of the East. The gates are made of pure white marble, and their height is equal to that of a standard two-story house. The arch has preserved its original form for one simple reason - for a long time, its access was blocked by a huge city wall, which served as a natural barrier from any whims of nature and human fancies.
