National Library of Technology in Prague
About
The National Library of Technology in Prague offers a unique blend of modern design and functionality. Opened in 2009 by architects Roman Brychta, Petr Lešek, Adam Halíř, and Ondřej Hofmeister, this 28-meter high structure invites visitors into a lively and informal atmosphere reminiscent of a bustling student hub. Whether you're here for an hour or two, you'll find yourself surrounded by a wide array of books, including many in English, accompanied by the gentle hum of student life.
The spacious library is not only a haven for book lovers, but also a community space featuring a shop, bar, cafeteria, arcade machines, and meeting rooms. Despite its modern facilities and clear commitment to cleanliness, the library could enhance its daily maintenance to reflect its exceptional design fully. While the noise in main hallways is noticeable, quiet study rooms are available for those seeking concentration, although adherence to silent zone rules could be improved.
Visiting is a breeze with free entrance, though you'll need to collect a pass from a small machine by the turnstile gates. Whether you're a family with children or a solo visitor, the vibrant yet relaxed vibe, coupled with a 4.7 average Google rating, promises an engaging experience. The library tends to be busiest around midday, but generally maintains a peaceful enough environment ideal for both study and casual exploration.

Perfect place for studying, you can choose from many comfortable places where you would like to sit and work. You are also allowed to borrow some technical books and acquire new knowledge. Whole place has really beautiful design and in the end, when you finish your work, you can go downstairs and order one of delicious meals or perfect hot chocolate!
