One of the most beautiful structures in the world is the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater, erected in 1825 - for several centuries, it has captivated minds with its grandeur and the uniqueness of its external facade and internal decoration.

Seeing it, it is hard to imagine that this building underwent fascist occupation and was damaged by two fires. During this time, it could have been completely destroyed, but like a Phoenix, it rose from the ashes, thanks to the foresight and skill of experienced restorers.

A special ornament of the opera house is the numerous sculptures at the entrance. Particularly striking is the figure of Melpomene on its pediment, racing on a chariot drawn by four panthers. This exhibit carries symbolic meaning, affirming that only the power of art can tame wild bestiality.

Within its walls, for nearly two centuries, such prominent historical figures as S. Bernhardt, A. Duncan, E. Caruso, S. Krushelnytska, A. Pavlova, S. Rachmaninoff, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, E. Rossi, P. Tchaikovsky, F. Shalyapin, and many others have performed.

Здание Одесского оперного театра является не только украшением города, но и его символом. Снаружи это строение выглядит невероятно красиво и утонченно. Внутри декор выдержан в стиле ренессанса и барокко. Попасть сюда на оперу или балет довольно сложно, потому стоит заранее позаботиться о билетах. Но зато, уверяю вас, вы не пожалеете о потраченных деньгах, а тем более о времени.

Ах, этот Оперный театр! Не зря его называют визитной карточкой Одессы. В этом году мне наконец-то посчастливилось попасть сюда. С первого взгляда здание Оперы поражает, оно действительно смотрится монументально, особенно, если сравнивать со стоящими рядом домами. Наверное, я не меньше часа рассматривала фасад Оперы. Внутри оказалось ничуть не хуже. Я постоянно сравнивала со Львовским оперным театром. Честно скажу, что последний, все-таки, проигрывает. Что касается репертуара, то мне посчастливилось попасть на свою любимую оперу «Аида», потому я осталась довольна.
