About

The Old Town is commonly referred to as the central part of Lviv, which, thanks to the ancient buildings and small streets, still retains a medieval atmosphere. In addition to the Market Square, the Old Town includes eleven streets and squares, namely: Krakivska Street, Teatralna Street, Svobody Avenue, A. Mitskevich Square, Galician Street and Square, D. Halitsky Square, Pidvalna Street, Brothers Rohatynsky Street, Cathedral Square, and others.

In the Old Town, there are many of Lviv's most famous landmarks: four churches, three districts (the Ruthenian, Jewish, and Armenian quarters), cathedrals and churches - the Latin and Dominican Cathedrals, the Transfiguration and the Dormition Churches, the Bernardine Monastery, as well as ancient houses from the 16th century and even fragments of the old fortress. Near the historic sites of the Old Town, there are numerous coffee houses and pubs where you can taste delicacies with a national flavor and take a break after an interesting walk.
