Experiencing a Greek Catholic sanctuary and becoming acquainted with a monument of Ukrainian Baroque is possible by visiting St. George's Cathedral in Lviv. It is situated in a picturesque location on St. Yura's Hill and is an architectural complex that includes the cathedral, a bell tower, the metropolitan's palace, and other buildings.

The present-day cathedral was constructed between 1744 and 1764, thanks to the Greek Catholic Metropolitan Atanasius Sheptytsky and his brother Lev Sheptytsky. The construction of the church, in the Baroque and Rococo styles, was led by architect Bernard Meretin.

Parishioners and visitors of the cathedral consider the miraculous icons from the 17th century - the Terebovlia Mother of God and the Kiev-Pechersk Mother of God - to be the main relics of the sanctuary. The cathedral's bell also draws guests' attention - its creation date is considered to be 1341, which makes this bell the oldest in Ukraine.

За несколько лет, что прожила во Львове, могу с уверенность сказать, что собор Святого Юра является одним из самых грандиозных и красивых строений города. Находится греко-католический храм на Юрьевой горе, на высоте около 300 м. Это действующий собор, в котором регулярно проводятся службы. В полной мере передать, насколько красиво строение вряд ли удастся. Нужно хотя бы раз увидеть его, лишь так можно понять, почему храм принадлежит к излюбленным достопримечательностям львовян.

Hostel Yurus находится от ж.д.вокзала пешком 7мин. До центра Львова пешком 25мин и по пути открываются красивые архитектурные строения. Можно и доехать на трамвайчике #6 и #4. В хостеле очень чисто и комфортно. Большая цельная кровать Кинг-сайс постельная принадлежность- белая. В комнате: Кондиционер,плазма, мини холодильник,чайник с чашками. Шкаф-купе.Самое главное в номере собственная ванная комната со всеми необходимыми принадлежностями: полотенца на 1чел.3шт- банное, для лица и для ног. Мыло, гель для душа и шампунь 2в1.туал.бумага и фен. Рекомендую всем!!
