About

The prison museum on Loncky is an unofficial pilgrimage site for those whose friends or family were victims of terror by various authorities at different times. It was repurposed from a facility used by the city's penal services, which meted out justice to political prisoners. The interior of each room has been restored and made to resemble its appearance in the times before it became a museum. Visitors can explore the lists of prisoners who were executed here, whose names had long been encrypted. Additionally, the museum presents the history of Father Nikolai Khmilevsky, whose activities as the leader of the underground Greek Catholic Church and a member of the Ukrainian Main Liberation Council were also condemned at the time.
