The Jesuit Church, one of the main sanctuaries of Lviv, was built in 1610-1630. Its creator - Italian Giacomo Briano - was well acquainted with the new trends in architecture, so he erected the church in the style of early Baroque, following the example of the Roman cathedral Il Gesù.

In the Jesuit Church, up to five thousand people can be accommodated, which is why in the past it was famed as the largest church in the city. The eastern façade of the sanctuary is adorned with figures of Jesuit saints, inside are skillfully crafted sculptures and depictions of biblical scenes. The ancient, majestic church amazes every visitor and fills them with harmony.

Since 2011, the sanctuary has returned to its original purpose and has become an operational Greek Catholic church. Tourists are also drawn to the sanctuary's underground, where one can see the crypt of a Jesuit monk.

Це просто щось. Я не релігійна людина але це дуже градіозно і варто уваги. Фотографувати не можна, по знаках, та як я розумію якщо без звуку та без спалаху, не зважаючи прихожанам то нічого. Здивували туристичні групи, де гід досить голосно щось розповідала, як на мене мала б це озвучити ззовні та заходити тихо та з повагою, все ж таки це храм а не ще одне туристичне місце

Очень красивый и атмосферный храм! Расположен в самом сердце Львова — рядом с площадью Рынок. Архитектура впечатляет: мощное барокко, изящный фасад, внутри — высокие своды, фрески, старинные алтарные элементы. Чувствуется глубокая история, ведь храму более 400 лет. Обязательно стоит зайти внутрь — даже на пару минут. Здесь тихо, спокойно, можно остановиться и почувствовать настоящий дух старого Львова. Рекомендую к посещению!
