About

The Gliany Gates (locally known also as the Entrance Gates) are among the best-preserved parts of the city's medieval fortifications. Created in the late Renaissance style, the structure is part of a fortification complex belonging to the Bernardine Monastery. A square tower with a spire roof situated in the center of the defensive wall is complemented by an arched passage paved with wooden blocks. One of the reconstructions allowed the restoration of the defensive moat.
