About

The Church of Saint Florian, the starting point of the Kings' Road, astonishes at first sight with its unassailable beauty. Having survived a fire and a long period of restoration, having changed, it has become a "pilgrimage mountain" for tourists in Krakow. At the center of its facade, there is a sculpture of the martyr Florian - a work by the artist Mangoldt from Silesia. Notably, the church also houses a local "grail" - a painting representing the saint himself, long recognized as a masterpiece of world art. Inside, the church's interior is an elegant neorococo stucco. The discernible features of Gothic and Baroque, the magnificent three-nave basilica, and such a fortunate location attract pilgrims and guests of the city right here. By the way, Pope John Paul II, who was also honored by the Vatican as a Saint, once started his service as a vicar here.
