About

The Memorial to the Victims of the Holodomors represents a large complex dedicated to the three periods of famines that occurred in Ukraine in the 20th century. It is a place visited by heads of state and government officials from foreign countries. The memorial complex includes several features. Its central part is occupied by the "Candle of Memory" chapel-monument. In 2009, a museum dedicated to the famine was opened inside it. Directly in front of the monument stands a sculpture of a girl, and a little further away is the "Alley of Black Plates". Additionally, at the entrance to the memorial, there is a sculptural composition of angels.

Monument and a museum dedicated in the memory of the Holodomor, a devastating famine which took place in the early 1930s in the former Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic and took lives of around 4-5 million people, as a deliberate act of genocide of Stalin and communist regime against the Ukrainian people.
